School Council
The School Council is one of BACS's governing bodies. The Council represents a cross section of the entire BACS community. Serving on the Council are a minimum of three representatives from all the constituencies: students, parents, teachers, administrators, community partners, and Board members.

This lively group is charged with making recommendations and decisions on the life of the school. Any initiatives by the students or faculty must be approved by the School Council before moving onto the
Board of Directors. The Council debates and approves proposed policies, monitors school initiatives (service learning, for example), and is charged with guiding the school's annual Strategic Plan.

Student Government

Student Government is a body comprised of one representative from each of the school's advisories. The majority of the members of Student Government have received leadership training, either from an in-house BACS course or from a summer program like Teen Institute. Students are nominated and voted into office and they meet regularly around issues affecting the student body at BACS. Student concerns are solicited by the advisory representative and brought to the entire Student Government body. Student Government petitions are discussed and voted on by the BACS faculty, School Council, and Board of Directors.
